    1. 1.The main message of this text is that the human beings make mistakes. The main reasons why we make mistakes are lack of knowlege and communication failures. Its like a holes in Swiss Cheese, when many little flaws/holes line up then the consequences may be catastrophic.
      2. Communication, communication, communication.

  2. 1. The main plot of this text is basically the errors that might occur in the fields of engineering. Afterall we are all human beings and it is obvious, that even the most intelligent ones tend to make mistakes. In order to minimize the amounts of errors, we should always concentrate on the right things, not work nor take any important decisions while we are tired and take breaks if needed.
2.I didn't find anything useful, that is worth mentioning.
    3. The mistakes, that might occur in my field, are caused pretty much by the same reasons as in every other engineering proffesion. The main thing is always to consult with someone else, if you are not totally sure about something.

  3. 1. The message of this text is that people make mistakes while working. The errors could be made individually or in groups. Making mistakes is absolutely normal among human beings, but people are also able to avoid them if they concentrate enough. Mainly mistakes are being made because of hazardous attitude. Also one major reason is multi-tasking. To avoid errors, people should be very concentrated on certain activities and take breaks if needed.
    2. Mostly these kind of problems and possible solutions mentioned there were quite familiar to me.
    3. The mistakes are probably quite the same in my field as in the text. Engineers should be concentrated on what they do. Also think carefully before they make any decisions (discuss with others if not sure about something)

  4. 1. The idea of this text was that engineers have a great responsibility for engineering a good quality structers. But not always are the engineering errors that lead to failures, that individuals and even groups of people can make by making wrong dicisions. Making the same kind of errors can lead to a big failures. To decrease human errors there has been made a safety reporting system to reduce commonly made errors. Also there must be a quality control procedures to avoid human errors.
    2. I found out that to greate a good structure of building, it needs a lot of work by diferent functional spetcialists.
    3. In our field it is also very important that the enegenering is done right. Because occuring errors can bring costly failures afterwards.

  5. The message is, that some accidents inevitably happen when it comes to using new technologies or new methods of doing things. Those mistakes shouldn't always be punished, but rather be taken as something to learn from. A safety reporting system like the one used in aviation could also benefit other types of engineering.

I found the new vocabulary in this text useful.

  6. 1) I found the message of text that people make mistakes. But we can learn from a mistake after we have made it. When sombody start blaming other peolple then he/she distance ourself from any possible lesson. But if you courageously say "This is my mistake and i am responsible" the possibilities for learning will move towards you.
    2)I didn´t found anything amazing because it´s well-know informations.

  7. The message of this text is that we all make mistakes, but some of our mistakes could lead to devastating results, especially when we work as engineers. So we must learn how to prevent those mistakes. Large percentage of these mishaps take place because of our hazardous attitudes.
Personally I found useful the fact about Aviation Safety Reporting System. I didn't know that they use this system in aviation. And also I learned some new and useful phrases.

  8. 1.The text analyse why engineers or humans make mistakes. It shows that more mistakes are made working in a group than individually. Engineers should demand higher standrds of clarity and usability from publiheres of building codes for not do make anymore errors. Some mistakes are made in knowless, this why engineers need to make more research.
2.I found new vocabulary. I think when more mistakes are made by group of engineers why dont they do their work individually and then compare their work with others and make the best choice to build something.

  9. The message of this text is that engineers have a great responsibility for the safety of the public. Every mistake they do, could end up really bad. To do the greatest work with greatest results, engineers must have the best skills and knowledge. It is also been said that errors may occur when people have mental or some other problems.
The text was quite useful. It matters that every calculation is important and also that people should be healthy and know how to work with groups to do the best work.

  11. This text is about mistakes at work and why workers do them. It doesn’t matter if you are leader or worker, we all are human beings and we make mistakes. There are some hazardous attitudes that increase the risk of failure. Second major aspect is that, workers has too many tasks and they can’t concentrate correctly. To avoid errors, workers should take breaks when they are tired.

I didn’t find nothing new for me, same old story, too many tasks and bad attitude.

  12. Human errors are usaual things but engineer must not do the mistakes. It seems that a larger number of people will see more mistakes. But it doesn't- group can make more mistakes than an individual. engineer must think very clearly what he's doing, otherwise a lot og people are in danger.

For me the most interesting fact is that the big group of people can make the mistakes just as one engineer.

  13. People make mistakes. Humans have higher error rate than computers and machines. Humans can also be under a lot of pressure. Groups are less likely to make mistakes, due to many and different people. Most errors come out after failure or discovery of defects. To minimize errors, some things can be done like setting higher standards, improve teamwork, pay more attention etc.

There could be numerous blunders in my field. For instance, there could be miscalculations of support walls/beams. In the worst case of scenario, this could result in collapse of the structure, if not, deformation perhaps, not to mention crooked walls or ceilings. Use of materials is also very important, as it determines strength, price and looks of a building.

I didn't get much new information, since this article was pretty superficial.

  14. The main point of this text was to clarify, that human errors are quite common and it is definitely a factor to consider. It tries to tell, that a man can not simply think that he doesn't do any mistakes or errors. Every human makes mistakes and it is very dangerous to think, that one don't do any. It also explains how error could normally occur and how to avoid them.
I found it useful because it gave me an idea on how much errors people make and how important it is to make sure you are doing everything right in every aspect, not only the one, that you are familiar with.

  15. Nowadays people are using more and more computers and machines. This article is about people failures that are causing big disasters. It's clear that people make more mistakes than maschines. People can't race with computers. People make mistakes and the punishment is not a solution, people should think how to avoid errors.

I did't get much from this text but it was interesting to read. There were many interesting facts.

I will add one construction failure:

  16. The main message of this text was that making mistakes are very human. Everyone make mistakes and It`s not so big problem. But a group of intelligent people can do bigger mistakes sometimes - history can prove that. Mistakes in engineering are nowdays not soo often cause lazy as we are, computer do most of our work.
Most important - people need to admit their mistakes.

It was not so useful for me cause I knew it before that people are quite clumsy and make huge mistakes quite often - I know I do.

  17. 1. - the message of the text is to inform people about the risks of the jobs they do. humans are good at doing something, not somethings. so we have to be very careful not to make mistakes.as it comes out in the text that most errors are the fault of a person doing a job.

  18. The main message of this text was that even if you are highly educated you still make mistakes. But making those mistakes can be easily avoid by not rushing and think everything through.
Nowdays engineers make mistakes not so often as the techonology is more advanced and we use alot of computers help as thay dont tire and make mistakes because of stress.

I didnt find anything useful but it was interesting to read and found some interesting facts i didnt know before.

  19. The main idea of the text is that all humans make mistakes. People can check for mistakes several times, but there is always the chance to make blunders. On the one hand, nowadays there are increasingly more technical solutions, which help to avoid mistakes, on the other hand those solutions are made by humans. Still, structural engineers have a great responsibility for public safety.

I found useful and interesting vocabulary, but the fact that humans make blunders is known before.

  20. 1. Main message what i got from this article was that we as humans do more errors that computers but this is in our nature. There are many things what can influence us. And there can't blame only one person who can arrange one failure. There will be groups who is responsible for failures but they even don't know of it. And we try to find solution to minimize human errors in engineering sector.

  22. The message of this article is that people make mistakes at a far higher rate than machines or computers do. They get tired, can be deceived or distracted and a larger number of people can make even larger mistakes, despite the fact that the group of people have a similar education, training and experience. Engineers sometimes try to fit old familiar solutions to new technical problems without reviewing the basic parameters, especially when the old solution is regarded to be successful.
Blunders in my field are caused by the same reasons as in every other engineering profession. Accidents occur mainly because of flawed decision-making, bad communications, and poor teamwork or leadership and not due to mechanical failures.

  23. The message of the text was, that people obviously make mistakes. It is often thought, that a group of people are generally more correct when making decisions, but it may not be the case. The problem is, that some people in the group might agree with the "leader" just to please them, and not think about the decisions rationally by themselves

  24. The message of this text is that humans are not perfect and tend to make errors, mistakes when under pressure. Also when a group of professionals get together and try to decide on something then the possibility of an error may not be smaller, because humans are creatures who live in a pack and to not be eliminated one must ride agree with the leader.

  25. The message shows the known truth about human failure. Engineers attitude is very important. Best engineers consider every possible error that can occour and not only mechanical because its known that 78% of construction failure is caused by human blunders. Its also noticed that larger number of people tend to make more mistakes because they simply agree with leader. To solve these problems, higher standards, more teamwork and discussion about mistakes bust be applied.

  26. Message of the text was that human errors are the most common to happen when they are least expected. We can build things with help of a computer systems but it still leaves a wide cap for human error. An engineer needs to be comprehensive when it comes to building things. He or she must also be highly precise when contructing things with some other persons because there's bigger chance that something may go wrong.

  27. The text was about human failures, mostly engineering failures. Every people can make mistakes, but sometimes the price of the mistake is just too high. We have to minimize engineering error. Even a grop of highly respected engineers make mistakes, what remainds us the swiss cheese effect. To avoid disasters engineers have to work even more harder to minimize the risk of errors.
